Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth without the need for extra dentures or bridgework. This can help your overall dental health by keeping your jawbone strong and healthy since you will not have to worry about possible bone deterioration caused by a lack of natural teeth. Several kinds of dental implants Sunnyvale are available today.

Here are the most common types.

    Conventional dental implants

These are the most common and can be used for patients with healthy gums and jaws. Conventional dental implants are made from titanium, consisting of the implant itself and a crown attached to it. In order to prepare for the surgery, each tooth must be prepared by removing any living tissue inside it.

Tooth socket he implant is then inserted into the empty. Over time, bone tissue will grow around the implant’s base, eventually creating a bond between them. The healthy gum tissue will also cover the implant and create a barrier between it and bacteria in your mouth. Once everything has healed properly, you can have your choice of prostheses put on top so that it looks exactly like natural teeth.

    Submerged implants

The most common type is referred to as submerged dental implants. In this type of implant procedure, a titanium implant is placed into the jawbone and covered with a dome-shaped covering made of titanium or plastic. The entire structure is then covered with gum tissue, which protects the implant and prevents bacteria from entering the mouth. The implant may be exposed or partially exposed to other types of dental implants.

    An osseointegrated implant

Unlike submerged implants, osseointegrated implants are attached to a metal post that sits above the gumline. This allows for more flexibility because it does not have to be fused directly with the bone. Over time, the jawbone will still grow around this type of implant, eventually becoming hard to differentiate from a natural tooth.

    An endosteal implant

The endosteal implant is one kind of dental implant available today. It differs from other implants in that it extends through the jawbone and comes out on the other side instead of staying inside. First, a small hole is drilled into the jawbone, which meets with the gum tissue. A metal post is then inserted into this hole and allowed to heal for several months. Then, a second piece is inserted into another hole drilled on the other side of the jawbone and allowed to heal in place. The two posts will act as anchors for a new tooth to be placed on top of them once both posts have been healed in place.

The main reason many dentists prefer endosteal implants is that they are supported by the jaw itself, which means that they do not rely on adjacent teeth or gums to hold them in place. This gives you strong and stable support that lasts for years to come.

Dental implants are made up of an artificial tooth root and crown attached to a small titanium rod inserted into the jawbone to hold it in place. These rods are inserted into your jawbone where your lost tooth will be, anchoring it into place. Unlike dentures, dental implants look and feel like real teeth, giving you back the ability to smile confidently and get on with your life. Suppose you have missing teeth and would want to try dental implants. In that case, Perio & Implant Centers of Monterey Bay – Silicon Valley experts can recommend the most suitable dental implant in your case.
