Nobody likes the thought of their memory weakening. Almost everybody would like to recall events from 10 years before with amazing precision and skill. However, this doesn’t always happen. In fact, many people get to the point where they ask the same questions again and again, and even forget who they’ve just been speaking to on the phone (my grandad, for example. Although this may be because he used to be a boxer and his brain took a knocking). To avoid losing your memory, try the following 10 tips to keep it on top form:

    1. Eat a Healthy Diet

A healthy diet will work wonders in every aspect of our lives, helping to fight off all kinds of diseases while keeping us looking young. If you fill your diet with lots of vegetables, good fats, proteins, and fruit, you can expect to have a better memory later on. Keep naughty foods to a minimum. The more natural, the better.

    2. Stay Active

Get off the sofa and move your bum! Moving your body is great for the brain, and has the added benefits of improving our body shape and health. Find something you enjoy doing, whether it’s a sport, walking, swimming, or something else and stick to it! Try new things so you don’t get bored.

    3. Exercise Your Brain

Your brain needs to be exercised too of course. Do this by playing games such as sudoku, and do crosswords to get those neurons working.

    4. Always Strive to Learn

I love to learn new things, so I strive to find out new things on a daily basis. A random question enters my head, I ask Google for the answer. Where would we be without the internet? It’s like the best teacher ever!

    5. Think Positive Thoughts

Being happy has so many benefits on our health and self-esteem. Positive thoughts are the key to living a happy life, and can even make your memory better. There’s also the theory of the law of attraction.

    6. Don’t Drink Too Much

Too much alcohol attacks the brain like an angry Dalek…’EXTERMINATE’. Yep, it’s that serious. Binge drinking will kill your brain, so make sure you only drink in moderation.

    7. Use Memory Boosting Supplements

Memory boosting supplements are available online and from health stores, so take a look to see what you could use to improve your memory. There are many different things you could use, you just need to see what works for you. For more information about memory enhancement, visit Lipogenic.

    8. Get Enough Sleep

Sleep helps the body to repair itself, including the brain! Get 8 hours a night if you can.

    9. Drink Coffee

Coffee is thought to not only help us in the short term, but the long term too! I recommend you don’t drink too many cups per day though; one or two at most.

    10. Take Time to Relax

Relaxation is important, whether you find enjoyment in reading, meditating, cooking, or walking the dog…do it!

These tips will improve your memory and help you to live a longer, happier life. Enjoy!
