Botox is what it sounds like.

The drug Botox has been used by doctors for years to treat wrinkles and facial creases. Clostridium botulinum is a bacterium that produces a toxin with the brand name botox. Besides Dysport and Xeomin, there are other brands. Botox is the most commonly used term since it was the first injectable botulinum toxin.

It is no wonder that the BOTOX treatment has become an established brand name in its own right: simply because it works. Concentration, squinting, and frowning cause you to contract your facial muscles. Over time, lines and wrinkles are formed and eventually become permanent as a result of frequent contraction and other environmental and lifestyle factors. As the muscles in our face move, the brain sends a message to them, instructing them to contract. By interfering with this process, anti-wrinkle injectables prevent wrinkles from forming. We offer botox injections in Leicester in a safe, trusted environment with our professional experts in Leicester.

What Are the Uses of Botox?

One of the most common reasons doctors use Botox is to reduce wrinkles on the face. However, Botox can be used for other conditions as well, such as:

    • Hyperhidrosis (sweating underarms excessively)
    • Dystonia of the cervical spine is a neurological disorder that causes severe neck and shoulder muscles to spasm
    • The inability to control your blinking (blepharospasm)
    • Differently oriented eyes (strabismus)
    • Migraines are chronic
    • Bladder overactivity

What is the Process of Botox?

Neurological signals from the nerves to the muscles are blocked by Botox. This prevents the injected muscle from contracting. Consequently, wrinkles are relaxed and softened.

Frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines are the most common areas for Botox use. Sun damage and gravity-induced wrinkles will not be treated with Botox.

    What Does Botox Do?

In just a few minutes, Botox can be applied. A local anesthetic is not required. Botox injections are performed using only a small needle with little discomfort.

The effects usually take 7 to 14 days to become fully apparent. Alcohol should be avoided at least one week before the procedure. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications should also be avoided two weeks before the procedure to prevent bruising.

For 24 hours after your Botox injection, don’t rub the site to prevent it from spreading. In addition, your doctor may tell you to stay upright for four hours after the shots and refrain from exercising for a day.

    Botox shots last how long?

Three to six months will pass before the effects of Botox wear off. Once muscle action returns, wrinkles and lines begin to reappear and need to be treated again. With time, wrinkles and lines become less noticeable as muscles shrink.
