“Men tend to blow off their symptoms and that is why they have more disease like heart attack and strokes”, said Dr. Cathleen London, assistant professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and an assistant attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. London also tipped that “If you have a man in your life that you would like to keep healthy, here are some things you can do;
“Feed them antioxidants London said foods like tomatoes can significantly lower one’s blood pressure, and hypertension is the leading cause of heart disease.”
“You should be drinking one glass of wine a day.”
“You can also change your cooking oil, so that it contains tocotrienol, which is protective against stroke damage,”
“Combining these with grape juice can bring blood pressure back into the normal range.”
“Obese men need to worry about disease more than average-sized men.”
“Exercise is your friend. Find one you like it could be as simple as running up and down the stairs. I like swimming, because it’s competitive. When a person starts to store more fat, it becomes the body’s own inflammation factory, It contributes to diseases like arthritis and diabetes. Obese people tend to get more colds too, as it wrecks havoc on their immune systems.” She explains.
“Women need to pay attention to how their men sleep if they stop breathing during the night, they could be suffering from sleep apnea. And a lack of sleep can contribute to a host of health problems, including an increase in heart attacks.” She said.
“Sometimes they are dehydrated, so drink lots of water,”
